Everyone’s heard about motivation. We know it’s a good idea. And most of us (especially those of us that are on the HCG hormone diet) have heard of different options for motivation like rewards and goals and weight loss journaling. But what about just being nice yourself while you’re on the HCG hormone diet?
There are times when we don’t even understand how to do this. We get stuck. We’re in a rut trying to make ourselves aware of the things that we want to do better, be better at or change so we forget there are many things that we are doing right. For instance you’re already on the HCG hormone diet. That’s a terrific first step. There’s no other diet out there currently that is more likely to provide drastic weight loss. So if drastic weight loss is the goal; then you’ve chosen a very effective means of achieving it.
When you make a goal for drastic weight loss you need to remember not to be too tough on yourself. You’ve set goals. And you’ve decided to work toward them. That’s a terrific start. That old saying aim for the moon and you’ll land among the stars is totally appropriate in this instance. You have great goals. And you might not achieve perfection, but you are going to continue to stick to the plan as much as possible.
Change is inevitable when it comes to plans. Plans almost never start and finish without experiencing some sort of spontaneous adjustment or change. If plans always went “according to plan” there would be no reason for the saying “according to plan” would there? Getting “off plan” can mean a tiny mistake. Or it can mean a huge mistake. We’re human and that’s one of the things that we do. We make mistakes.
So when you feel like you’ve just made a small (or HUGE) mistake…just remind yourself that at least you’re on the right track. You already have terrific goals in place. You already identified just what you need to do to get there; to reach your goals. And you’re working on it. You might have a few days that are just perfect. You’ll drink tons of water just like you’re supposed to. You’ll make all your meals from scratch. You’ll see a few pounds fall off each morning. And you will feel wonderful. And then other days won’t be so fabulous. You might have a few days that are hard.
When you’re in the midst of a rough day remember to tell yourself that tomorrow is a new day; a fresh start. Tell yourself that tomorrow is going to be a fabulous day and then aim for that. The fabulous day you plan on happening might not come to fruition. That plan could be disrupted. And that’s a bummer. But that’s the way it goes. Just know that when you aim for fabulous…it’s much more likely that you’ll get it or that you’ll fall just a little bit short in comparison to the results you’ll get from not aiming at all.
Identify problem items that pull you away from your goal of succeeding on the HCG hormone diet. It might be specific foods. It might be specific places. It might be specific people. It’s hard to say until you actually notice what led you to a mistake on the diet. Problem items are those things that lead you away from your weight loss goals. It’s only a few weeks. Identify them and stay away from them while you’re focusing on the HCG hormone diet.
Take note that encouragement (by definition) is positive. If you notice that your form of “encouraging” yourself is actually to repeat negative comments and opinions to yourself over and over you need to redefine your method as “discouragement” because that would be a more appropriate definition. If you need a mantra…make it positive. For instance, tell yourself over and over how much weight you’ve already lost and how much you are about to lose.
