Is there a way? The answer is yes, which you’ll be pleased to know. By maintaining a healthy lifestyle, engaging in regular exercise one can overcome obesity. Also making a few changes to your eating habits can show great results as well. Either way you do it; overcoming obesity will help improve one’s confidence.

Drink a lot of water daily along with all the good healthy food in your diet because water is an important part of eating right. They usually say you are what you eat, so get to eating and drinking well!

Everyone may not drink water as often as others, so if you are one of the non water drinkers, there are a few things you can try. The following preparations can help you get into the habit of drinking water a little easier.

Some of those preparations are:

1. Flavor a bottle of water and refrigerate for a little while. Be sure to use caffeine free tea though. The flavored water should make it easier for drinking, especially if you have a taste for tea.

2. Adding lime juice or seltzer to your bottle of water may be a good idea also. It will give your water a different taste that you may appreciate.

3. Juice concentrates of your favorite flavors to your drinking water also gives it a good taste. Be sure that your flavored juice concentrate doesn’t have any preservatives.

However you want to turn up the taste on your daily water, it will still keep your body hydrated which is the most important part.

If you can increase your intake to 6 to 8 glasses per day and remain at that amount, your weight loss will be accelerated.

1. It Is Almost As Energy Dense As Fat

People can easily see the correlation between eating too much fat leading to fat gain. They also know that fat has more than twice as many calories as protein or carbohydrates. Now consider this; alcohol has almost as many calories as fat! Fat has 9 calories per gram and alcohol 7 calories per gram. So next time you are downing a few delicious drinks, remember that you are literally drinking fat, energy wise.

2. It Seldom Comes Alone

Very few people drink pure alcohol. All drinks and cocktails are mixed with either soft drink, lemonade or fruit juice - but it doesn’t stop there. What about all the snacks and meals you have together with your drinks? The late (or early) fast food runs after a night filled with drinks and clubbing? The calories stack up.

3. It Crashes Your Fat Loss Capabilities

If you’re having a bender each weekend you could literally be having two days off weight loss, along with the additional “benefits” previously mentioned. You see, fat conversion goes through our liver and it’s through fat conversion that we take the fat that we stored and use it for energy instead. But our liver is also responsible for ridding our bodies of alcohol, and it can’t multitask. Thus, whenever there is alcohol in your system, you can’t burn fat. So, if you have a two or three day weekly bender, there are several reasons why you are gaining weight or at the very least not losing fat.

4. It Makes You Look Puffy

Purely aesthetically, but the dehydration that happens through drinking will force your body to eventually reach into your tissues to get the water. This will give you a puffy and bloated look.

5. Adding 1 Drink Per Day Can See You Gain 2kg/month

Are you a daily drinker? Couple of beers or a few glasses of wine a day? If that’s the case, realise that adding just one drink a day to your diet can see you gain 2kg/month. Ouch!
