See The Fat Just Melt Away When You Visualize Weight Loss!

Sunday, October 31st, 2010

It sounds far fetched, but it is true. People can improve many conditions, including being overweight, by using visualization techniques. The way this works is to first create a mental image of exactly how you want to look. Next do everything you can to make this image as real as it can be. Tying emotions to the image will make it much stronger. You can do this by concentrating on how you are going to feel when you actually do look like the image. You need to focus your mind on the emotions and make yourself feel like the image is real.

People used to think visualization was a fairy tale, but this technique has become much more accepted in recent years. By working at visualization you eventually will create a very clear mental image of yourself at your ideal weight. Once we truly believe that this is how we look, the subconscious mind starts working to make it happen. This still may sound like crackpot science to you but, whether you think visualization works or not, you and everyone else actually use it all the time.

An example would be people who are dieting but really believe that they cannot lose weight. Sometimes you will hear people make the statement that they cannot lose weight. You know at that point that, since they really don’t believe they can lose weight, they have very little hope of being successful at their diet. A person who believes it is impossible to lose weight cannot accept successful weight loss. If somehow they do lose a few pounds, their subconscious mind will work to get them right back, so that reality will again reflect what the person believes. Without realizing it, these people have programmed their minds to make sure they never succeed in losing weight! In fact, the ONLY way these people could ever possibly lose weight and keep it off is to use Visualization techniques to change their beliefs about weight loss!

But there is a secret to visualization, and here it is. Scientists have known for years that the human brain cannot hold conflicting beliefs at the same time. For example, if you believe that you are an excellent speaker you cannot at the same time believe your are a terrible speaker. Scientists have also found that, when things happen that go against what you believe, this creates conflict in your mind. For instance, using the speaker example, if you absolutely believed that you were a terrible speaker but then you got up and gave a wonderful speech, you will experience mental conflict. Your brain will actually seek to minimize what you have accomplished. If you have seen this happen, you were probably struck by the person making excuses for their speech like, “Well, I knew a lot about the subject” or “Its only because I know most of the people here”. This is their mind seeking to explain how they gave a great speech when their belief is that they are a bad speaker.

So think about what this means. Using visualization, if you get yourself to the point that you really believe that you are thin, your mind will have conflict when evidence is presented to the contrary (like looking in the mirror). To handle this, your brain needs to resolve the conflict. Most people will just give up and say “I’m hopelessly fat”, but some can look in that mirror and say “THAT IS NOT ME!”. They have convinced themselves that they are a thin person temporarily trapped in an overweight body. Once this happens, you may just hear yourself saying something like “Ice cream makes me feel bloated. No thanks.” Your mind is leading you to do the things that will make your self image a reality, and resolve the conflict!

Many of us are surrounded by negative images and words from our own minds or from friends and family who may ridicule your diet plans. Fortunately, they cannot dictate what you think if you are determined to change. So create that image of yourself at your desired weight and make it as vivid as you can. You may as well try this, since you have probably already tried many other things. The only thing you stand to lose is your extra weight! Work hard at creating enough positive visions to counteract these negative ones and use these very clear visions to determine what your future will be like.

It is very important to practice visualizing every day - morning, evening and any spare moment you have. Just take a few minutes in a quiet place and keep an image in your thoughts of the body at its perfect weight. Remember to make the vision as vivid and emotional as you can make it. Some people can do this very easily, but most of us have to learn how to do it well by practicing like this. If you have a photograph of yourself at your target weight from the past, you may find it simpler to look at that. Or use a photo from a magazine but paste a picture of your face on it. Use whatever techniques you can think of to successfully visualize your own ideal body.

As you go about your daily chores, think of yourself as already at your ideal weight. Create affirmation statements and repeat them typically, usually within the present tense (”I am glad to be slim and at my ideal weight” , not “I am going to …”). Enjoy the feeling of having a positive self-image. Over time, this will help you to keep for your fat loss plan. You will find that fatty foods are less attractive and exercises are a lot more enjoyable. While your fat loss will of course be gradual, there is no doubt that this technique will work. In fact, if you get yourself to the point you really, truly believe you are thin your subconscious mind will make it impossible for you NOT to lose weight!

Healthy Diet Plan: 3 Highly Effective Weight Loss Plans Under $50

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

When it comes to losing weight, there is literally tons of information online available to anyone looking to lose either a little, or a lot of excess weight. If you’re searching for this type of information, and trying to figure out what is the best diet for weight loss, then you could probably use a little guidance in deciding which program to follow.

I know it can be a bit frustrating to visit 10 weight loss sites and read about 10 different ways to shed those unwanted pounds. I mean, a person can literally get stuck in “information overload” when it comes to choosing a healthy diet plan that they feel comfortable in following.

This is especially true if you have already tried many plans, and you’re still searching for one that you really like. You see, the reason why so many people fail on any particular diet plan is because they often pick a plan that’s not suited for their lifestyle, or, their personality.

When you go shopping for a car, the results you’re looking for is something that will get you safely to and from where you want to go. Similarly, when you go looking for a new pair of shoes, you know that when you put them on, they’ll help you walk from point A to point B. In reality, there are many more things that you consider when buying a car or a pair of shoes. It’s not just about transportation, or covering your feet. You also consider style, luxury, how it makes you look and feel, etc.

This same principle applies when looking for a healthy weight loss diet plan. All diet plans have the end goal of helping you to lose weight. But, they all go about it differently. You should consider what types of foods you’ll be eating, when you’ll be eating them, how much you get to eat, what kind of stages does the plan have, what does it cost to get started, is exercise built into the plan, or not mentioned at all, the basic science behind the plan, and, most importantly, is the plan easy for you to follow?

Here are three top diet plans that have worked for many people without busting their budgets:

Every Other Day Diet (EODD) - This best-selling weight loss plan was created by a guy who doesn’t even like dieting. His name is Jon Benson and he’s a fitness author and life coach. He created the Every Other Day Diet for people who don’t particularly like to diet, but do want a no-nonsense way to lose weight, while still enjoying tasty food.

This plan works so well because Jon has created what’s called the SNAPP eating system, which tells you exactly which foods to incorporate into your diet every day. The plan has three phases designed to assist the beginner, the person looking for intense fat burning, and people who are into extreme bodybuilding style fitness. Most folks will feel comfortable sticking with phase one.
EODD allows you to have “feed days” where you get to eat whatever you want. He also offers motivational support for everyone on the plan.

Carb Rotation Diet - This is a great plan for those looking to lose 25 pounds or less. There’s been lots of discussion in books and the media about the amount of carbs a dieter should consume. Some plans want you to eat a lot of carbs, while others want you to eat very little. This can get a bit confusing. The Carb Rotation Diet does exactly what the title says - it rotates carbs in your diet, so that you’re never going hungry, or feeling overstuffed with heavy food.

The creator of this plan, Jason Hunter, is a registered dietitian who is well versed in what various types of food can do for your body. His plan incorporates calorie cycling, so you’ll always be eating healthy meals that include protein, carbs, and a certain amount of fat. This type of carb eating plan is way better for your energy level and overall health.

Yay Food Diet - People who have a lot of weight to lose (30 pounds or more) have the most difficult challenge ahead of them. First of all, there’s the psychological hurdle to cross to convince yourself that you can even lose X amount of weight. It’s so much harder to lose weight when you’re going it alone and have no one to share your anxieties and questions with.

The creator of the Yay Food Diet, Rachel Rofe, understands exactly what this feels like, because she’s been there and done that. She successfully dropped 100 pounds and her story was featured in Woman’s World magazine. Not content to rest on her own success, she created a diet membership site where anyone can go and feel like they’re amongst friends. This is a diet plan and support group all rolled into one.
